MARIANNE BOWDEN, PhD

Marianne Bowden, PhD, received her Master’s of Educational Psychology from John Carroll University and her Doctorate in Counseling/Clinical Psychology from Kent State University. She completed her clinical internship at Northeast Ohio Universities College of Medicine and her residency at The Counseling Center of Wayne and Holmes Counties. She has been in the mental health profession since 1984 and licensed as a psychologist since 1995.

Dr. Bowden has extensive experience with psychological evaluations as well as custody and parenting evaluations, having completed over 3500 evaluations in her career. She also treats mental health issues for all ages and problems. She specializes in the areas of trauma, child sexual abuse, ethics, anxiety/panic disorders.

In April 2019 Dr. Bowden was named Wayne County Child Advocate of the Year by the Voices of Children Committee. She was subsequently recognized by the State of Ohio House of Representatives for this accomplishment.

Dr. Bowden has been on staff at Wooster Community Hospital providing consultation to the Rehabilitation Unit and the Corporate Wellness Program. She has been recognized by the Ohio Psychological Association and the American Psychological Association for her work with the Psychologically Healthy Workplace and Corporate Wellness. She has served on the board of the Wayne County Children’s Advocacy Center and the Ohio Psychological Association Ethics Committee.
