LAURIE SPENIK, LISW-S

Laurie is an experienced trauma-informed Licensed Independent Social Worker. She earned her Masters of Social Work from the University of Akron, with a concentration on individuals, family and group work. Laurie has served as the Coordinator for Touchstone, a residential facility for women and their children, who struggle with addiction, trauma, and mental health issues. She has also served as the Director of Residential Services, which is a residential facility for men struggling with struggle with addiction, trauma, and significant mental health issues. Laurie has worked with Summit County Children Services, and Victim’s Assistance Program, and is a certified Victim Advocate. She is a certified EMDR therapist, that helps individuals and families, struggling with trauma, anxiety, anger, and depression. Many of the therapeutic modalities she utilizes, are CBT, DBT, EMDR, and MI. She is a current member of EMDRIA, which is an EMDR International Association- Creating Global Healing.
