Cherita Griffin, LPC has over 15 years of experience working with diverse individuals and groups to promote optimum mental, physical, and emotional health. In conjunction with being a therapist she has experience as Paralegal and Client Advocate. She is currently furthering her career path and obtaining her Independent Licensure, Certification for Yoga Therapy, and completing certification as a Certified Forensic Mental Health Evaluator (CFMHE). She has a demonstrated track record of providing effective therapeutic assistance to individuals dealing with mental health issues associated with trauma, abuse, addiction, poverty, and dysfunctional family systems. Cherita is a graduate of the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Degree Program at Walden University. She is certified by the National Certified Counselor (NCC) certification board of counseling professionals. She has MS-level knowledge of Behavioral Analysis and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Forensic Psychology from Kaplan University. She is a Certified Counseling Trauma Specialist as well as currently obtaining her certification to provide Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Cherita is a Trauma-Informed Yoga Instructor and Social Emotional Learning Facilitator with a great commitment to providing the highest standard of quality care to individuals and families to contribute to positive mental health and wellness. Her areas of expertise include treating struggles with anxiety, depression, anger, low self-esteem, single parenthood, trauma, abuse, substance abuse and neglect.
