BARBARA MICHELSON, PH.D.

Barbara Michelson holds a MA and Ph.D in Counseling Psychology from Kent State University. She has over twenty years of experience in the field of mental health with individuals and families who are coping with crisis and has experience in the areas of divorce recovery, treatment of trauma, alcohol and drug dependence, sexual dysfunction and medical health psychology. She is co-chair of the Medina County Crisis Response Team and is a member of the Medina County Youth Violence Task Force. Since 1993, Barbara has provided education for divorcing parents throughout Medina County, through a seminar jointly sponsored by Medina County Domestic Relations Court and Cornerstone Psychological Services. She is the 1998-1999 President of the Medina County Mental Health Professional Association. Barbara has done various presentations in the schools and the community of a variety of topics including teen suicide, stress management and sexual assault prevention.
